Our Goal
To make this book accessible in public schools, libraries, and other learning centers across the country. This book is currently available for you to preorder! It is slated for publication and the distribution of the inaugural prints on/around Juneteenth 2024. Following the book’s release, free age-appropriate lesson plans will be available for download from our website.
We envision that Our Black History in Fifty States will create a stronger future generation – one that is more equitable, respectful, and visibly engaged in challenging systemic oppression wherever they are found.
The book’s content is being prepared through extensive research by Black youth from across the country who were paid a livable wage for their efforts. On top of that, a percentage of profits from book sales made on this website will go to Black youth-focused non-profits such as the United Negro College Fund, Association for the Student of African American Life and History, Black Girl Code, and the DuSable Museum of African American History.
